It took me about the same time to do half the hood. But, in the long run if I choose to polish I think this will save me time trying to get sander marks out. If, on the other hand I wind up with a scuffed finish maybe I woulda been better off with the sandpaper. ???????

I never tried to buff out something that I stripped,,,, but I recently went at my tanks with a buffer, some of the areas where really beat up from stones and stuff,, I decided to take my chances and sand them then buff, and those areas came out better with less effort. and I have very little experience with polishing aluminum.. and just using cheap buffing wheel and polish bar from harbor freight on a right angle grinder/ buffer.
Don't be afraid!

I love having friends who own scrapyards!!!
