Wow, I've been reading up on adding turbos to an 8v71na. I knew it wasn't a bolt on but I didn't grasp the amount of changes necessary to maintain reliability and get the gains one would want. It seems easier to replace it with an 8v92T. Oh well that can all wait. Seems the cheapest way to improve performance is to improve the power to weight ratio.....Back to cutting! LOL

There is a direct relationship between fuel rate, turbo size, and performance. They need to be properly proportioned to each other or it'll be just a waste, of time!!
Kinda a circular problem, more fuel needs more air so add turbo, turbo won't spool up without enough exhaust, so more fuel again, and so on, Keep upping the fuel then upping the air etc. and so it goes, you'll keep making more power till it all comes apart!!!
You'll spend a boatload of money, but have a ton a fun doing it!!

It is a Really good time! -
BIGZILLA Thanks this.

What about water-methanol injection? Cooler intake = more power -
In reference to post #17 Yesteryears engines didn't last any where near as long as they do today. I am sure somebody on here knows how many miles those Detroits lasted. You may love that sound but you will want to have a plan B in place. A 2nd old 8v71 or maybe a 8v92.
I might travel near you at times. I live near Tifton GA and deliver some into FL.BIGZILLA Thanks this. -
I see excuses.... You're waterproof......lol
