I see SNI has openings for OTR drivers out of Florida and is offering a $4k sign-on bonus. Anybody know how it is paid out?

4 payments spread out over a year. 20 20 20 40 payout. 20% at 45 days, 20% at 90 after that payment, 20% at 6 months after the first payment the the final 40% at a year from the first payment.
at signing you should receive a copy that lists the schedule and amount specific to each payment.

As a general rule, sign ons are a red flag. It means they don't have enough miles to naturally attract drivers

Or maybe they have loads/miles but the rate sucks.....

But yes these days sign on bonus is a huge red flag.

Unless your very experienced, don't take it. Most people I talked to at Schneider average 1800-2200 miles a week.

I myself did about 3100 a week, but, and even then, my paychecks were only $1300. To many miles for too little pay.

Oh forgot to mention, that bonus is taxed at 40%.

    My signing bonus was $6500.

Oh, about got that bonus is paid:

    1st installment - At your 2 month mark - $1300 of which I only kept $800.

    2nd installment - At your 4 month mark - $1300 of which I only kept $800.

    3rd installment - At your 6 month mark - $1300 of which I only kept $800.

4th installment - At your 1 year mark - $2600of which I never received because I quit at 9 months, which was the first time they sent me to California and I got stuck in a terrible death loop of crappie loads going up and down California. Paychecks dropped to $700 a week, or about 1700-1900 miles, and I took that as a sign to move on.

Yes they do tax it hard. My sign on bonus was $1500 for tanker. I received my first 45 day payment of $300 of which $75 was taken out for federal....smh

Why are sign on bonuses taxed at such a high rate?
