fuel gauge

    I have a 88 w900b the fuel gauge reads below empty sending unit appears to be all there? ??

    I believe if you disconnect the wire for sender and ground it the gauge should max out, ground it through a test light, with a regular bulb in it, and the gauge should read about 1/2 way. If you have similar results sender or its ground circuit is bad.

    Does the back of the gauge have a plus terminal for 12V with key on. A - terminal to ground, or grounded to panel by strap, that will not light a test light with the key on. An S terminal for wire going to sender? If so, key on, ground S terminal with jumper wire and test light.

    No has a plug with 4 wires

    No #### funny probably has no power I need to get into it more changed steering wheel today

    Sorry: Had petes on the brain. It works the same way if you can figure out what each wire is for.
