For awhile now I've been running as a team with Fedex ground and my co-driver is facing some serious heart problems so he's done driving for some time, so I'm starting this over again.

I have an offer as a driver merchandiser with Coca-Cola. The job is union, great bennies, pay is $133/day plus $0.10 for every case delivered. (supposedly 500-700 a day)
It's a good offer but really I'm not sure I want to be local.

So the old lady says I can stay on the road if she can ride along with the dog.

I've looked into Melton and Freymiller, they have cameras which doesn't really bother me that much...yet. I liked Decker but no pet policy. I tried Big G but they weren't interested in my 6 months of experience.

So we'll see where this journey leads. Hoping to find a flatbed company with APUs, riders, and pets where I can really settle down and stay put for awhile.

    Wish me luck

    blairandgretchen Thanks this.

    Rider & pet policy:

Holland Enterprises - reefers - rider from day one, take her to orientation.
    Magnum Ltd. - reefers
Pride Transport - reefers & flatbed
    Navajo Express - reefers

Magnum website has 12 mos. experience required, but that's incorrect; they hire with no experience.
You looked at Freymiller; seems a good choice also.

That pay is not that good, considering you will be working 12 to 14 hours a day, doing manual labor to make maybe 45k a year

Pay used to be great, then some pencil pusher decided to split the routes up and make them smaller. Now it's just back breaking work with little to no reward.

    Thanks china
As you see I kind of got my answer after my teammate tore his aorta. Made the decision to switch easier ha, he'll be okay though. On long term disability now.

Do you know if Pride has cameras yet? I know they have a flatbed division.

I work with a guy that recently quit cocacola, he only worked there a few months. He said his case counts were noware near what they promised him. He hated it there

Yeah I took that into account. I think it's gonna take having a kid or finding an $70k+ job to get me to come home.

But the benefits they were offering were much better than most I've seen
