Been a guest on this forum a long time thought it was time I chimed in and said hello to everyone. I served 8 years in the USAF got out in 1986 and went to truck driving school. Went to work for a long haul trucking company pulling refers to the west coast and back to the Midwest. In the mid 90"s I went to work for Hiner Transport pulling dry vans stayed there until the company was sold. It was the best company I've worked for! After Homer Hiner sold the company it just wasn't the same. Decided I would get off the road and I haven't driven OTR since 98 but I sure miss it. Been working in a non driving position for the last 16 years but who knows when I get closer to retirement you might just see me out on the road again. Anyway I look forward to reading about everyone's experiences and I will chime in every now and then.

I don't know how you've done it. When I've been working local or in the office for too many days I get happy feet. I got to get out and let the horses run every now and then. (Preferably at night!). Ratchet jaw on the CB and cut up. My wife can tell when I'm getting restless. Don't know how one could come off the road for that long. Guess you get used to it.
