is there an HOS exemption for national guard and reserve soldiers traveling to their home station so they can get to duty on time?
if not, should be? how would you apply for one?
I think three days prior to scheduledd duty with paperwork showing your intent to travel to your state of record, milit, ary orders, and military id should be allowable for a waiver/exemption from FSCMA Hours of service.,,,
what do you think?

If you are still on your civvy job,, the answer would be NO!
If you know you have to report for duty, plan ahead..
Those that fail to plan,
Plan to fail....

You don't have to be on duty to ride a bus, so plan to be where you need to be, or plan how you will get there.

Entitlement has reached the servicemen/women. You know your drills as soon as you hit your new fiscal year in October.
Off duty driving and you had best be bobtailing -
perhaps some companies are better suited for m-day soldiers. companies thay hot shot their loads can make a driver feel nervous about making sure he gets where he needs to be at the time he needs to be there.

HOS are suspended for drivers aidong in disaster relief. so there is a prescident for temporarily suspending HOS. Pyro technics recieved an HOS suspension for the week of independence day. Lot's of companies get suspensions for certain events, shouldnt soldiers have the same treatment?

Im also not talking about complete reprieve from the rules, just an allowance to return to home station with extended hours without hassle.

I'm not sure what the issue is, are you going to your reserve duty in your truck?

As a retired Senior Command Officer, I still say NO!
You are not on Emergency call out, So plan accordingly...
Case closed!.
