QuietStorm, jdiesel3406 and KB3MMX Thank this. -
What did you go with for rear suspension.....Twin Y or Mack air leaf?
-
They bought it at auction. I think it has the rear air leaf. I haven't even looked at the gearing LOL. It runs at 1660 at 75 miles an hour.

twin y is junk from what I hear bet its 3.21 if thats the OD m drive
Original Bender Thanks this. -
Since he has a gold dog on the hood, it's an all Mack drivetrain, bumper to bumper.
Wyo. plates, I've seen you around I'm certain.Original Bender Thanks this. -

I drive a 14 pinnacle day cab. mp7 engine and 10 speed trans. my take on them - overall the mp7 is very underpowered. out of the 30 trucks at our yard maybe 3 of them will respectably pull a hill. they all do well up to about 8th gear and then Peter out. I got lucky and ended up with a factory freak. it literally out pulls every other truck we have 2:1. the engine brake works well, but is not consistent when used in conjunction with cruise control. ie brake target 68 mph - truck won't brake on its own until 70-71.
ride quality is what it is in a day cab. I've driven better and worse. they drive well but as aforementioned, the trans feels soft. even with 1 mil miles on one they still don't feel like truck transmissions. the 5th wheel jaws are VERY stubborn when it's cold out.
theyre decent trucks. my only real complaint is the mp7s lack of power. I'm sure the mp8 is much better.
