Typically, drug testing is one of the first things done on day 1 as that is what culls most and it takes a few days to get the results back. But sometimes, it may be day 2, or 3 at most.

Why is this question being asked more and more these days from people calling themselves newbs, students, or wanna bes? Like KMac said if you have to ask then maybe you need to think of another career to get into. This isn't the type of work where you get to sit around all day smoking and munching on brownies with your buddies. Wonder if thats why I'm seeing more and more trucks tore up these days.

OP shows student. So I have to ask. Have you passed the school drug test and wondering if you will have time to get high before orientation? If so, the answer is NO! Schools have randoms also. Plus when you are on a training truck you are subject to randoms. If you're serious about this career, you've smoked your last already.
Students, newbies, and wannabes, please look at the big picture. You will most likely, eventually get a random. You will have two options, fail it or don't take it. Now you have failed, or refused to take a DOT drug screen and your driving career is pretty much over. Plus many non trucking jobs have that one question you will have to fear,
Have you ever failed or refused a drug screen? YES________ NO________

Basically put, it is suspect to ask a question like this. So, as a former safety person, who had to test (non-truck) drivers, the answer is simple: No more, not ever, never.

    Random testing is possible.

Have any collision with any trace of illegal drugs, and/or alcohol, in your system? 100% blame on you. You get fired, you get sued, you get a criminal record, and get held accountable for all the harm, even if it was 100% someone else at fault.

So, you passed your first drug test in your career. Good. Keep it that way.

Also, know this: Most, if not all, trucking companies do HAIR tests. Not urine tests. Far more accurate, and anything in your system for quite a while WILL SHOW UP on the test. So, smoked, or snorted, or shot up, or swallowed anything suspicious in the past few months? Forget showing up at orientation. It will show, and now you will have a failed test on your employment record.

A positive drug test is the kiss of death at my carrier. No second chances - you're out the door. It will be on your DAC for everyone else in the trucking world to know that you're a doper - that means totally unemployable. And they do a saliva test for alcohol too. Been there five years, and I got hit with three randoms in the last few months. If your number comes up on the road, you have 2 hours to get to a Concentra clinic for a test - or you're fired.

They don't #### around with this.

Asking a question like gets a reply like "Stay off the roads and find something else to do".

Prime does a urine test. Given the first day. If you have to worry then don't go.
