Look into small companies in your area and see if they will put you to work.
I got my CDL on my own and no one would look at me unless I had 1) experience, or 2) school.
since I could not get experience I opted for Road Master, (hind sight being 20/20, I should have gone to the local college or found one of the smaller companies)
After Road Master I went with a trainer for Crete and then worked for them for awhile.
Another option you could go to CR England or another bottom feeder company. I would advise against that.
What ever you decide, I wish you the best of luck. And stay positive. The first year can suck. It will be what you make of it

Earl Henderson Trucking will probably hire you and train you through their CDL program. You already have a headstart on the other students because you have your CDL. They have a pretty good deal; provide transportation to their school in Caseyville, IL/provide a private hotel room/provide 3 meals a day during school/provide a guaranteed minimum paycheck every week.
This company has a real good reputation.

If you decide to go with them, here is what you need.

    original social security card
    original birth certificate
    flashlight
    cheap work gloves
steel toed work boots - slip on style are best
sleeping bag & pillow - you will need these when riding with your trainer.

I would say small mom and pop companies send in some apps. Eventually someone will need a driver bad enough and call you. That means if you're not lazy and ready to forget what sleep feels like lol. But that's okay because you'll be rolling In dough

I would not choose a company which films the driver during the work.
