That statement is not entirely true. Anyone who can pass the DOT physical and obtain a CDL can get a job. Unless they have a horrible driving record, a recent DUI, or have committed certain felonies. But even then, there are a few companies out there that will hire that person. But he won't be making much.

 

Basically if you can be insured you can find a job, it won't be a good job though.

Horong homeless people???? Thats garbage.
You need to pass a physical and a drug test. Then you need to be insurable...IE No DUI in so many years, no accidents, no drug charges, no open parole etc. These all depend on the company you are applying for.
As for Recruiting out of Africa?
I'm not sure about this one. It could be possible.
Bring them here on a work visa. Put them thru trucker school. They have a clean record cause they never worked in America and thus they are insurable and if they pass a P test, they are hire-able. This rumor could be plausible. They still need to speak english or close to it in case of inspection from dot...


Keep in mind, someone is paying for those trucks they drive and the insurance bill. They are also watching the profit margin. I don't see putting a homeless person from a shelter inside a 140k truck, profitable or cost effective.

WOULD YOU hire a homeless person or a African straight from a tribe to come drive your truck? Ask yourself that.

Yes anyone can get a job driving a truck....don't let anyone tell you different...just go to a truck stop and within one hour you will see.

When you say they are hiring as low as homeless and even from Africa, I was interpreting it as the OP was told that if homeless wasn't bad enough then Africans is worse.
