Not really reliability as much as poor millage, they are still reliable. But thats easily solved with a older ecm swap. There are other differences but the biggest issues is the ecm..... Mine started life as a MBN bridge.

ecm from 15,8 block?
-
anything with a 70pin, 14.6 or 15.8 from 2WS 3406E, 1MM 600hp 3406E, 6NZ C15, 7CZ 600hp C16, they will all work. The 1MM wont give you much gains, but 7CZ C16 with stock settings on a stock 525hp bridge is a 120hp upgrade.
I have a 7CZ on mine with very hot codes. -

i bet maxxforce engines dont have significant share in international trucks,so navistar had have to find another one OEM that will use maxforce engines,so in the end its Caterpillar

So are not going to make class 8 engines anymore???
If not good ridden's to bad rubbish!
If so I'm sorry to hear that..
They haven't made a good engine in at least 15 years.......They have been resting on there name for way to long.. -

My half brother has had two overhauls on his 03 t6, But that could be his fault-he's kind of an idiot..
When i look at the truck paper i see allot of cat engines that have had majors with well under a million miles.... And allot with under 700,000 miles.
I know it all depends on the up keep but when it comes to cat's it's just to risky for me at least... -
