i worked for jb hunt for one month...which was 30 days too long. They lied to me from day one and when my wife was in a car accident and i was 130 miles from home, they were more concerned with picking up a load toward home , than the safety and well being of my family. I would advise any driver who takes his career and his family seriously, to reconsider believing the lies they spew and seek quality employment elsewhere. In other words...THEY SUCK S$## FROM A DEAD MANS #####

Several years ago, I tried JB Dedicated Fleet out of one of the retail giants. I was dispatched one nite around 6pm to go out the next morning, around 10pm I got a call that my mother had suddenly died. I called JB and told them that I would not be able to go out in the morning. You know that they tried their best to "make" me. And the morning of the funeral I got a phone call from JB wanting to know when I was going to be available. These people are something else. Anybody who works for JB has to be hungry. I would live on welfare before I would ever consider JB Hunt again.

When 100 people say that JB sucks and 1 likes them then why do people still try being that 1 person?????????

Ha! I can't believe that with the countless numbers of threads saying bad stuff about that company that someone would even have to start another one!

Simply because people with bad experience have more motivation to write them than the ones who are happy.

I worked for JB, and not for a month or 2, i worked a lille over a year. I will not say they are good company, but they are certainly not worse than any other similar size companies.

The size of the company matters.

Looking at this section " Bad Companies", can you show me 1 big company that has not been registered in this section ? Ironic that, almost the same companies are also listed in " Favourite Companies" section.

But they both have one thing in common; mostly posted by inexperienced drivers. So for me it is more important "Who says it" rather than "how man people said it"

While I do agree with much (99%) of your statement. We do have to sort the disgruntled folks from the factual folks. But, I do have a question for you.

How many times does a person need to get shot, before he is experienced enough to provide you with an "informed" negative response about it?

    Just some food for thought.

I have always been of the opinion. That it would really suck to be shot, even once. I know people who have been shot. But, they never expand on their experience. Other than, it sucked and hurt like hell.

I'm gonna take their word for it ;) Although I suspect they may have a bias toward being shot.

Why do people pay the lottery... er.. play the lottery?

Actually,I tend to agree with SpaceShrimp. For me, though, the point is that so many people are complaining. Newbies and 'vets' alike. A series of complaints will carry more weight than a series of attaboys when I consider working somewhere. In part, it's because the attaboys are pretty much "I got no complaints", or "I like it here", where as the complaints tend toward the specific. It's much easier to quantify.

Further, since the complaints are more specific, you can sort through them and see how often a particular complaint is lodged. Quite a few of them recur any number of times. This, to me, would indicate a definite problem with the company (yes, depending on the complaint)

In the end, it boiled down pretty well for me. ALL large companies suck if you are a driver.

    This is true.

You can find logic in a complete whinners post. If you follow the post.

All you have to do, is decide. "What will make me whine?"

For me, it's being parked in a truckstop or anywhere other than home for more than 24 hours.

I'll be in the floor kicking and screaming at about the 3rd hour. Not really...but you get my point.

That's my comfort zone...home or moving.

Did they strike again Ranger? the last post is 4 years old.

I encourage anyone who is looking for work to check out their website and search for jobs in your zip code. They are opening warehouses all over the country so you can get home every night, not just 3 days a month. Check out their DCS and FMS divisions as well.

    http://www.jbhunt.com/jobs/driver/

I work on the dedicated Home Depot account (DCS) and get home every day and weekends off every week and still gross well over 1,000.00 a week.
