So now...my dam truck was not charging other day, made mistake of pulling relay which killed it.. Finally got a jump and got it to town without charging... Changed out alternator... Then was barely charging(12-13)..
Then headed back to bush this morning only to watch volt gauge spike between 12-13, and engine was governing at around 1500rpm, And when it did that it would flash check engine light twice(codes ?)..
So pretty soon I heard a fuse or breaker pop and voltage started dropping... So now here I am.. Back in town.... Going. Wtf...?? Any ideas. ??
My 2001 Star is governed at 1500...and kicks code ?

A brand new Delco or trp are under $200 now a days . Why would anyone cheap out on a alternator? Heck I keep one under the bunk just in case .
These modern day electronic engines don't run with out power people.! -
Bad battery or cable? Did you check anything or just slapped an alternator on?
