Hello, I'm looking for a Dry Van company to work for with my own truck. I live close to NYC. My problem is I only have 1.5 years of experience. I contacted some companies, they all said "must have 2 years of experience". Maybe you guys could recommend a good Dry Van company that could offer me a job? Thanks.

    Waldy Thanks this.

Conway Truckload takes care of their I/C's. I lease on there and it's working out for me.

Try craigslist...it seems like good companies want to have 2yeats but there are some so-so that will take you with you experience

Any company you lease to will take a percentage of the rates, which is fine, they can't do it for free, right? I think it's around 20%. A good company is defined as a company that works for the money, a company that provides steady miles and pays on time. Pays what they told you they pay.

PM me of you aw interest. I know my friend is leased on with his friends company. It's just an option until you get your 2years. He will take 10% and you keep 90%. There are plenty of people doing this. Load boards, Internet truck stop, etc
    Do you have a trailer?

Thank you guys. I spoke with Watkins & Shepard, they offer $1.15 per mile plus 37 cents for fuel. Is this a good deal, what do you think? Thanks

That sounds low to me. I would check with other carriers. Landstar, Universal Truckload, Mercer, Crete, Schneider are a few that come to mind. I don't recall their minimum experience. I think that Landstar is 6-12 months. Landstar, Universal and Mercer pay percentage.
