    Good morning drivers.

As I mentioned in my Welcome Wagon post, I am looking at getting back into driving after a seven year hiatus. This may be more complicated than I thought due to an accident I had in July of this year. No police involved, but was found at fault by the insurance company. I have already had one of the mega carriers say this is a two year disqualification. It is a bit troubling considering it is the only thing on my record, but that is the way the game is played. If anyone has advice, or suggestions on companies I am open to suggestions. I am just getting started in my process of trying to get back out there so we will see.

Trucking Companies are controlling hires via DAC.

Here is a list of things that will keep people from getting hired..

As a work around, you might have to run for a operation who do not screen via DAC whatsoever.

Q : I have used many services to look for a driving job but I'm having no luck at all. What would keep me from finding a truck driving job?

If you are having more difficulties than normal, there may be something in your driving record, MVR or DAC that is holding you back. The following are examples of items that might keep a company from contacting you for employment:

1 or more felonies in your lifetime
    A drug related felony conviction
10 years or older felony conviction
    Child pornography related conviction
    Convicted of a violent crime
    Firearm related conviction
Murder / Rape / Misconduct / Burglary / Robbery / Capital Theft conviction
    Assault & Battery
Conviction/ investigated / or suspected of involvement in of terrorist activities
    Currently on probation or parole
More than $5,000 of damage from a preventable accident in last 5 years
3 or more moving violations in last 3 yrs
3 or more preventable accidents in last 5 years
Truck abandonment in last 5 years
License suspension is less than 3 years old
1 or more moving violations over 15 mph in last 3 years
A DUI/DWI within the last 5 years or more than 2 DUI/DWIs ever.
Fired in the last 5 years
    Ever failed a drug screen

Pull the dmv record. If the insurance is the only issue and it's not on the police report you should be ok.

What information do you need? I have one at fault wreck. There was no police involvement, no police report, but I was found at fault by the insurance company. There is no conviction associated with the accident. I rear ended a car a little damage to his bumper and a little damage to my bumper. One of the few times I allowed myself to not maintain a proper space cushion and it bit me.

Other than that I have five years OTR experience running both team and solo. I have hauled dry van and reefer as well as heavy haul dry van. No tickets/incidents in a cmv aside from a missing mudflap and one over-weight ticket. I came off the road when the ex and I got divorced and I got custody of my six year old which made driving a bit difficult.

I think it is fair for a company to be cautious. The equipment isn't cheap, nor is the freight. Companies have to limit their potential losses. I now have a mark that says I am a risk. In a companies eyes if I have one incident, how many near incidents have I had. We have all seen those drivers that follow too close, change lanes, and so on but have just been lucky and not killed themselves or anyone else.

You had a minor fender bender. I wouldn't sweat it.

You have a lot of experience. Have you tried local jobs?

Relatives and people in general comment about how dangerous it must be OTR or on driving as much as we do.
I started driving for Pepsi Transport in 2010 and had to leave in 2014 because of a rider, a couple of minor incidents, any way coming back to local was a mistake. My record was clean
