Why do I hear trucker sob stories about how the company screws them royally, but very few seeking remedy thru the court system? Even take it to small claims court, where you don't need a lawyer. To file a case in Michigan, it's like 65 bux. Well worth it, IMO.

I was making decent money with them. I was running the southeast region out of the Atlanta terminal. But I would look at other lease purchase opportunities before signing on with them. I just felt like a glorified company driver.

when I got to orientation it was pretty much all new trucks to choose from meaning a super high weekly truck note. I lgot a 2012 cascadia for 395 per week for a 3 year term. But there is no trailer rental fee and you get reimbursed for reefer fuel.
Running the southeast region you are paid on % and they don't tell you what the load actually pays before they take their cut, so that leaves you wondering, ( like #### I know that this load should pay more ). But it all seems like cheap freight to me.

you don't get to choose your loads nor do you have access to a load board. Once you are empty and put in your empty call you wait on your manager to send or call you with a load. You may get lucky and get preplanned over the weekend. If you turn down a load you may sit a while(almost like punishment). but they do have some high paying loads and good runs.

you have to put in for home time/time off. Once my driver manager made me deadhead from winter haven fl back to Columbia sc because she forgot about my off time for my military drills.
( I was like you mean to tell me that their is no freight at all in fl it's Wednesday I don't need to home till Saturday morning, and their is nothing Along the way that I can pick up?)

overall it it was ok my time their was draining, not because I had to run hard, you don't have to run hard to make it at kllm just gotta be in the right places at the right times I guess.

i left because I had got called up to go to Afghanistan, before I left they told me that all the money that I paid towards my truck would be applied to another truck upon My return and upon my return they wouldn't honor the deal and wanted me to sign a new lease on a brand new truck for 6 years.

First of all C.R. England is a horrible company..Avoid them at all cost....As far as your friend losing her truck, that can happen if an arrangement isn't reach to cover the payments. .All companies will ssle or re lease the truck to another individual. ..Also as a kease driver you pay fuel and maintenance. .thats what being a independent contractor is about...no brainer.....As far as her being kisted as a company driver is just a typo or someone made a mistake on the paper work... Most companies aren't going to hold out for a driver to come bsck from anything to pay off that truck..It sucks but thats the business. ..What's bad about leasing is you can only write off the truck payments but you can't write of the depreciation of the truck....So basically you will end up paying taxes on the $ you earn...only After paying the truck off or deemed an owner operator can you actually take advantage if that tax savings....I recommend Prime's Ace Leasing deal..You put so much money doen based on your driving record and length with Prime and you afe considered an owner operator from day one..You.xhoose your color and options on the truck......Writing off truck payments and depreciation of the truck eliminates taxes for most.....P.S...if you are going to buy a truck via lease, purchase, etc you should form a llc or incorporate so you seperate your business taxes from your personal taxes...Kllm seems to be a decent company but you will do better working by percentage than otr..Similar to Prime....Prime truck payments are higher but you oay the truck off sooner....If you learn how to work their freight network you can make $ at both companies. ...

I leased from England before, and since thwn I have received at least five documents sating I qualified to join in on a class action lawsuit against them. So it does happen and pretty much doesn't make a difference.

But that's class action. I'm talking initiating court action against a company for it illegal action against the individual. Everyone wants someone else to do their homework, it seems.

Ah yes, in this case that someone being you. A class action is a person or group filing suit on behalf of a particular group. Its the same thing. What you likely mean is why wont the Feds get involved. And in thay case they never will.

I truly know where you're coming from , been paying on my truck for 2years, broke down ,it's going to cost $18,000.00 to fix the emissions system, dpf, def well I never asked to be taken out it, they just took me out of it, I lose everything I've put in it over the last 2 years, and they want me to start a new lease with a used truck. I had this one almost the life of the truck. I'm pissed.

I know where you're coming from, I've been paying for my truck for 2years, and put a lot of money into, it broke down last week and the repairs will cost $18,000.00 I never asked to be taken out of the truck, they just took it away from me and sent me back to Jackson to start a new lease with no credit for all I had already paid in, they aren't even offering me a new truck, I practical had mine for the whole life of it to that point, I was paying $515.49 a week, and did that for 2 years. Now I'm out of everything, and they expect me to start over from scratch with a new 6 year lease. I'm just so pissed,
