From the way i understand it, it is an annual fee. The grand-father thingy is back when swift allowed pets, this was like 5+ yrs ago or so, the drivers who had pets back then could keep them. As of 2-3+ yrs ago, they changed the policy, and company drivers could no longer have pets EXCEPT for those who worked before the rule change.
so in short....new company drivers, no. if you lease a truck, yes.

Do we start school with swift in 2 weeks after we get our own truck, husband and I can we bring our dog? With all the correct paperwork and shot records this is 2016 now not 2010 when the other posts were posted?

Has anyone ever known Swift to relax rules?
They get stricter over time.
But the pet policy I can understand.
Dogs and cats can really tear things up. -
Moosetek13 Thanks this.

OK so that is a yes with all the shots, pictures, and correct forms, and the fee that you pay. That you can bring your pet? That is what the other posts said so I was making sure it's the same since 2010 as for 2016? -
You need to reread the other post ... its a no for company drivers. A yes for o/o, no restrictions.
inkeper Thanks this. -
It needs to be a service dog and even then swift will constantly give you #### for it even though they are legally obligated to accommodate you (swift has to prove undue hardship by allowing the animal in the truck). I know a guy who has a service dog and he gets popped for random drug tests every week like clockwork. Coincidence?
