What about Lonestars? Do they have a higher resale value than average International?

The Lonestar is a bit of an oddball-there doesnt seem to be any middle ground-people either love the look or hate them-My thoughts are, youd better love it because you have to look at it (and pay for it) every day for 5 years.

Peterbilt because Navistar is moving production south of the border . Would you buy a truck from somebody making statements like this ? "Owner-operators, Hebe said, will vanish because of high fuel and equipment prices and the anticipated rise of electronic onboard recorders.

EOBRs are noteworthy, Hebe said, in that a key strategy for some owner-operators has been to run longer than federal hours-of-service rules permit.

“That is the death knell for owner-operators. They can’t survive by running legal,” he said."
"“There are no unemployed truck workers sitting around in Mexico. We will have to train truck builders who have never built trucks before — and that means a ramp-up will have to be slow, or quality will have to suffer.

“Truck jobs in the U.S. are gone and will not be coming back,” Hebe said."

Truck jobs at PACCAR , Volvo , and Mack will be here . What should be gone in the U.S. is sales of trucks by Navistar and Daimler .
The megacarriers will keep buying them though unless the Chinese manage to market a cheaper truck here .

Peterbilt is a much nicer looking truck and in my experience and easier truck to get parts/repairs for.

Kind of a loaded question being asked on a "Peterbilt" forum.

How long before PACCAR follows navistar's lead in the race to the bottom? Every new harness or sensor I ever bought for my truck has "made in Mexico" on it.. I think even Eaton has started shifting production to south of the border..
