Truckers; I took the time to make this list so we can all see who's OK and who's bad. I added a few that I found on this forum to the list so you could see how it is done. we will be able to see how many vote certain ones the worse and why.
See if someone is slow pay but does pay decent, I don't care. I really want to know about the really bad ones that gets you with fake damage claims and or don't pay and/or you lateness
And I just redid the list in alphabetical order.
thanks

In fairness to CHR and Landstar results can vary from branch office to branch office. I like different agencies at each and will work with most any of them.
However, I would put Birmingham, AL CHR branch office on the bad list in particular an agent named Lee. They sell a lot of dirty recycled loads. The kind that will trash your equipment. I knew that going in and was ok with it at the time. I did a same day run on some of that mess from Birmingham to Huntsville a long time ago. It was a blind shipment to keep buyer and seller in the dark. No biggie have done a bunch of those. My problem was with the fact the shipper knowingly overloaded my truck with 48,000 lbs of baled material. The load was supposed to be between 44,000 to 45,000 give or take. Not a 3,000 give or take!!! This was knowingly done by the shipper and most likely in collusion with CHR.
If they put a couple of extra bales on every intrastate Alabama load after a couple dozen loads they have eliminated the need for one truck. Overloading everyone and making savings like that. No-one will ever convince me it was an honest mistake. There are no weigh stations AL (exception is I-20 west of GA line) and they take advantage of that. They get paid on tonnage. I raised hell with that office. I refuse to work with them on any of their loads. I have zero problems with any other branch offices at CHR and have hauled a LOT of CHR freight from various branch offices. A few of them repeat business many times. Good people to work with. But Birmingham branch, nope, I will never get burned by that bunch ever again.
Same thing with Landstar. Some good agencies, many bad ones. They are sort of the opposite in that respect when compared to CHR. That's just my opinion. However I don't think it is fair to say Landstar is bad across the board because of that. Have worked with many good people there. Now if I pointed fingers at certain agency codes that would be different. Brock @ LS-LJN beat me out of detention pay on two loads. I won't work with ANY Landstar agency that has LJ in the code. Those are the "Little John" brotherhood of agencies with 479 area code. Notorious for shenanigans with both outside carriers and BCO.
I'm not giving up good ones but will gladly post my votes for 2 bad agencies. Two prime examples with legitimate reasons for the rest of you out there to be weary of. You may work with them, that's fine, just be ready for likely BS. Bad votes:

nofilter and Skate-Board Thank this. -
For example:
- You agree to be paid only after Scotlynn gets paid.
- You agree to forfeit all rights to collect unpaid bills from the shipper
- You agree that Scotlynn can withhold some or all of the payment to satisfy alleged claims -- with no dispute or appeal process
- You agree not to work directly with any customer for 3 years
Scotlynn and UPS are the only 2 companies with carrier packets I wont sign (UPS because they refused to accept my amendment capping their $10/lb of freight liability at $250,000 per shipment).Last edited: Oct 16, 2015

Updating last 3 to the list:
@ rollin coal, double yellow, gokiddogo: do you guys mind if I added you to the list?
I can keep updating the list if you guys don't want to take the time.
at least this way; anyone wanting to see information on brokers doesn't have to read all 79 pages to find who to stay away from.
