Pre 03 Volvo hood fit on 05?

    Last week a deer didn't want to get out of my way... Long story short karma is now teaching me a lesson. I need a new hood. I have a 2005 with the older style headlights. I have an opportunity to buy a hood and bumper off a 2000. Someone said that it will not fit because the frame widths are different. Is this true? I plan on next week going out to measure the bracket mounts.

    A 2005 VNL has the newer projector headlights unless you have a VNM.

    A 2005 frame width is the same as a 2000, the only thing is the hood latching brackets are in a different location then a 2005 so it's possible the 2000 hood will not work without fabricating or replacing your existing brackets and hardware.

    Why not just purchase the same hood and bumper that came with your truck?

    I think by saying he got a 2005 with older style headlights, his front looks like this vo-vnm200-13-0002.jpg

    That's a VNM, it depends if the hood is from a VNM or a VNL.

    The VNM hood is a shorter hood (length wise) then a VNL hood.

    either was vnm or vnl it will not fit mounts and frame width is completely different i don't think its even possible to adapt one to the other.
