Who's doing this lease purchase with quality carriers? I'm needing some real updated info. I'm wanting to do it but I'm also aware that l/p are a joke. The recruiter I've been talking to has reinforced the idea that it is just like being 100% owner operator! Anyone have any info on this program? Looking to run out of Texas if that helps any. Any info would be appreciated! Thx
Quality carriers l/p.

You are not going to get the info you need from the jackals on here....Just read up on being a small business owner, and hire a lawyer to review any contract before you sign. Most drivers find more success by buying an older truck and leasing it on to a company. There are no sweet deals for lease purchasing. Good luck, and keep the rubber side down. Ted.
wheeler113 Thanks this. -
Personally, I would stay away from Quality Carriers. They used to be a decent company. I was leased to them for years out of Memphis. They got greedy and began stealing revenue from their owner operators. They stole the fuel surcharge and replaced it with a crappy version of their own making, which of course, puts your money in their pocket. They also want to tell you where you can fuel your truck so that they can get the kickback on the fuel purchase and do they pass the savings on to you? Oh, no! It goes in their pocket. I could go on, but you get the general idea. Run from these people. They are not what they project themselves to be, in my honest opinion. However, should you decide to go with them only 2 decent terminals that I would run out of would be Pasadena Texas or Memphis Tennessee, for what it's worth. I hope this helps your decision.

Thx guys. This is the info I'm looking for. They make it sound really good but... Most tell you what you want to hear just to get you through the door.

Also because QC are all affiliates, it's all going to depend on which terminal you work out of. A buddy of mine is happy there and works out of the Ft Worth terminal even though he lives in Austin. He also told me that the Channelview terminal is pretty good too. He told me there's plenty of freight.
Good luck -
Is your buddy a company driver or a lease purchase guy?

I worked for 706 in Ft Worth and they are the best people I ever worked for. Bar none.
-
So he's leased on with them. As usual with any co, YMMV -
Anyone here know anything about buying a truck through DB Kustoms and leasing it to Quality?
-
What's db customs if you don't mind me asking? Not familiar with them?
