I just installed a cobra 29ltd classic in a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia.
What is the range for this guy to talk/hear others.
Thanks!

Are you using the stock installed coax cable?
Did you have a shop tune your antenna? -
If you put the radio in a car, I'll hear you 30 miles down the road. Since it is in the Cascadia, I would probably hear you about 10 miles and the average person would hear you about 3 miles

The Freightliner Cascadia is a less than desirable vehicle to broadcast from. no matter what you do it will never perform as well as if it was in your car with a magnet mount directly in the center of the roof of your car's roof.

What trailer are you using? Flat, dry, refer?
Is this your truck or company ride?rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -

Well your limited to putting boles in a company ride.
What you should do is.
Run a better coax cable to a mounting point that has a true ground.(grounded to battery)
Have a radio shop tune your antenna thru the coax cable you bought.
Fire up radio. Probably have 2 maybe up to 5 mile range.
Now being a company ride, you would technically just leave the coax with the truck after install. Since it would be to hard to remove. Get a location to mount An antenna.
Take radio and antenna if you leave or change trucks.rabbiporkchop and Kry0n Thank this. -
I wouldn't expect miracles out of that truck
darthanubis Thanks this.
