I was there 2 1/2 years from March of 93 to Thanksgiving of 95 , up to .21 by then and a trainer , all miles plus 75 a week , it was good times , pulling 1 k a week in pay . I had a brand new condo . I spent four weeks training a student and dropped her off in Nebraska then went home for Thanksgiving, with a trailer going to Modesto. The day after Thanksgiving the salt lake city manager, Susan, called me and told me I had to deliver the load on Monday and I told her to get somebody else to do it. I was due time off. On Monday morning I walked outside and my truck was gone LOL she had sent a hook to get it. I call Dallas, they apologize, and then tell me they had given my truck away with all my gear in it but they would let me ride down with another driver to get a new one LOL. I said no thanks and found a job hauling containers

I only wish my time in the industry wasn't so short. I just got pissed to quick at a DM and if you read my first post, all of the mishaps started happening. Now I'm having Hell getting a job cos Stevens has my DAC report in shambles.

I liked them , no cell phones no Qualcomm , three days in the meat patch waiting on a load, first day free , second 20 dollars detention , if you wanted to get somewhere you needed a map book a ruler of phone number and sometimes a Thomas guide. I would delivered to California, call Dispatch from the receiver when I was done and they would just say head north and call us in three hours LOL. Dispatch would give you approximate directions and when you got within 20 miles you get on the CB and get the real directions from another driver ha ha , no big coolers , it was straight to the field where they threw a pallet Jack in your truck and you got to work

There 's a list of companies that don't check DAC. I got screwed too, you can still truck

Look on monster or indeed , apply to anything that looks good

IF worse comes to worse go to Dacfix.com

FFE New Jersey dispatch actually put- driver is difficult . Lol

The big companies suck anyways they just plug you into a computer and accept or reject , you can do a lot better just because you have a cdl

Voodoo Pyg and 123456 Thank this.

I wanna thank you. This is the career that I've wanted half of my life. Currently I'm praying that this cement company I have submitted to will allow me to work some. I miss grabbing those gears so much.

Just remember , it's cheaper and easier to reject you based on a form at these big companies . Just. Make direct calls and tell your story up front , to real people who listen . Before Dick Simon became Central I leased a truck , was involved in an accident , which was non chargeable , almost got in a fist fight with the safety director and they escorted me off the property ha ha . My DM was ticked told me I should have just kept my mouth shut and I'd have a job , but I just can only take so much . I hauled air freight the next two years then applied to Jack b Kelley , when they pulled my DAC it said I had been involved in a head on collision , my fault . I call the highway patrol and so I sent them five bucks and they sent me back a copy of the police report which proved the other driver was at fault and had been cited. I spent the next six years at JBK ended up buying a truck from them and made $200,000 a year to the truck. Don't let some power-hungry jerk off control your life man just get out there and talk to people

    Voodoo Pyg Thanks this.
