I have had my Stryker 655 for a year or so, absolutely love it. However, I still don't know anything about it's FM mode. What can I do with it? Does it switch to HAM frequencies?

Changing the mode does nothing to the frequency. It just changes the type of modulation. CBs operate on AM (amplitude modulation) in the 11m band, Simply stated, a regular CB won't be able to communicate with you. If another operator is also on FM, then you could communicate.
BTShepp and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
As far as I'm concern, they should allow fm on th CB bands.
It is quieter and pretty much sounds better.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -

Oh, so it's that simple. OK
I was looking into it as maybe a second radio. But it looks like (as it stands), it's just another version of that frequency... only difference is the amplitude of the wave. I would need someone else using the FM mode to talk to... not to mention, changing the antenna because I switched the radio to FM and when I tried to transmit, it wouldn't due to high SWR.
Thank you -
FM to AM shouldn't effect SWR . Frequency should only be modulating 5khz or so on FM, or less if it is FM narrowband .

I'll double check that, thanks
