I would print out a copy of the email response for your records and maybe keep one on the truck until all these crazy agencies get on the same page.

AL state said that they would also have the notice for it when they mail out your renewal for CDL, I have yet to see a renewal for husbands' license in 5 yrs. They say to that if you don't have the med record in, it will suspend your CDL. If you have a 1yr card, it would be real easy to forget to renew it.
Now is the time I guess to go ahead and get it done since January isn't too far away and you want to make sure you have all your ducks in a row, because it only takes a click for them to suspend your license. -

On your med card is the info about the dr you went to ie his tax id #, I don't remember if it has his phone# or not, but they can call the dr and ask to verify the information about you, ie if you have a med card filed through them, etc, not sure how much info they can get but they are the government. Guess they can already call the dr if someone has a questionable card, then the person better hope they have a legit card, because there are those who don't play by the rules.
Everything is going by the computer now and they have so much info already, look at the weigh stations I am sure they already know who is driving pretty much each and every truck in the US. They have already collected license plates and truck #'s and have the company info. -
Certification. When doctors are approved by the FMCSA, they are given a Registration Number that goes on the card.
After I took my physical, I took the Medical Certification to the CDL office of the DMV and filed it in person.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
Got noticed that my Medical card was coming due - OK get a new one and emailed DPS info - got email receipt that said they received info and would put into system as they where received. Next thing I know they down grade my Class A to a class C and even mailed me a new class C license. When I contact them - DPS didn't understand why it was downgraded - they looked for my new email I sent them - they could not find it so they told me to go to a DPS office and give them the new medical card info so they could get in system. Well they charged me $65 to reissue me my Class A license. They said my medical was not submitted to them - OH Yea? - well then how did you know when it expired if I didn't submit the required information? No answer except - You want the Class A - you need to pay the $65!!! She typed the new medical card information into the system - at least I guess she did - I got nothing to prove she did!!!
There were 5 other trucker in line with similar stories getting their licenses reissued. Also - since it was below 32 degrees in Dallas - all of the DPS offices where closed (met alot of truckers out side the closed DPS offices with no class A license anymore trying to get answers) - had to drive to Sulphur Springs to find a open DPS office to get my CDL reissued!! I think we will get snow here tonite - so DPS offices will be closed for a 3rd straight day! -
I had a reciept from the post office when I first sent my medical card in. I was put out of service in utah last week 4-15. Visited the DPS office in Hebbronville Tx and went through the whole process of submitting my medical card again. I was told I'm good to go. It's 5-1 a Sunday. Im sitting at the truck stop in Lamar Colorado OUT OF SERVICE. So I have come to the conclusion that the government employees are inept and can't enter the information like they should. Now their costing me money.

I submit my card online for Texas DPS, and you can check your current status through their website also. Normally takes about 2 weeks for their system to update, but you get a confirmation email also.
bigjoel Thanks this.
