So I'm coming right around a year that I've finally have had my license and I want to drive otr. I've been looking into swift quite a bit and I think I want to go to that company. I've chatted with the recruiter a bit and it seems that every thing will be ok. But I have a possession charge that I got about 2 years ago, the charge was expunged or discharged under the title 16 first offender act. So legally I don't have to tell them about the charge, but I'm worried about if they may be able to see the arrests or if I was convicted. Have any of you guys had a situation like this or know someone who has? From what I hear they just do a regular background check and if so I should be ok. Btw I'm from georgia if that matters

Swift has driver facing cameras in the trucks; some drivers are OK with it and some aren't.
I'd go with Earl Henderson Trucking. They have a new pay package; .38 cpm with a guaranteed minimum 2100 miles a week pay for pay purposes.
Can't help you with the background check question though.Asoggypancake Thanks this. -
Just answer the questions they ask...and answer it how they ask it.
Don't worry about the background check.Asoggypancake Thanks this. -
Chinatown and Asoggypancake Thank this.

No as long as it was expunged you do not have to tell them. I may or may not (wink wink) know someone that had the same issue. Never comes up.

Mainly I was thinking about going to these guys bc of their training program and they aren't far from where I live. Also I road on the trucks for a couple of months as a ride along before they bought out central. I didn't think it was bad the way they handled things, but then again I was just a ride along. I also wanted to know if you guys could give me some information on the upgrade test it sounds pretty difficult. Like what do they look for in the test and what skills are you tested on etc. Thanks for the advice guys I'll have my license for a year in July so that's when I plan on going through the process.

I would order an NCIS criminal history on myself and see if it shows up on there.
