Rumor has it, our regular customers are waking up and will be back to normal shipping lanes and off this water hauling kick. Good thing too, I'm getting nervous.

The burden with having a drop delivery is that the place is picked over for empty trailers leaving me bobtail until further notice.
If you didn't drop one, you shouldn't take one.

Nestle Water was a major customer of Kuperus when I worked there; their loads made me nervous, too. I dreaded finding that first Indiana scale open in the morning as I drove from Michigan to the delivery point in Chicagoland; those loaders often did a miserable job of balancing the load...and then there were the sharp-eyes MSP commercial officers who could tell just by looking whether my tandems were within the 37'-41' range.

Lucky for me, my company has a lot of ultra light weight trailers. When I scale out empty, with me in the seat, it only grosses out at 29100.
We can safely load 48000 and be legal.

Another day, another construction zone trailer tire blowout.
At least they are burning tree piles so if I close my eyes, I can pretend I'm camping.

Kuperus used nothing but Columbia glider kits which were very light, too. I remember the heaviest load I've ever carried was water out of Stanwood...50,100 lbs. That little Columbia engine did not like the hills between pickup and drop off!
