The guy I bought my W9 from has a nice single axle crew cab FLD Freightliner he uses to pull his 5th wheel. He told me the scales want nothing to do with him and they told him to keep on trucking. He also told me since his FLD is not commercially used, it doesn't require an annual inspection.

It's possible they changed their stance on it?

Who knows? Its definitely a grey area. I understand that the truck was built for commercial use but it seems silly to be treated as a commercial carrier when you're just driving a larger vehicle for personal use. I guess I'll have to deal with it when the time comes to put the old girl back on the road.

Maybe it depends on where. And I know the laws for collector/antique plates varies province to province. SK has the easiest laws for anything vehicular.

Heading east this past week in Ontario I came upon a real nice black 379 flattop pulling a 5th wheel rv trailer. Great looking set up, not a decal on it I could see. Very sharp unit.

    AModelCat and CanadianVaquero Thank this.
