hewho beat me to that.....but there is no 'feminine' in English when referring to the masculine. handsome is the word.

I tried to learn Spanish once as the 'suggestion' of my upper management when I was in aviation.....also a feminine/masculine based language. the company is headquartered in irving, texas and has their flagship operations at DFW so no surprise there they were pushing that all employees learn Spanish. it was sheer idiocy to me to have multiple 'genders' in language and two pronunciations of words to represent the same thing in different 'genders'. ah the simplicity of English. just pick one word and go with it. in the end I refused to take the classes in Spanish telling my superiors that I would not learn a 2nd language to pander to people who refused to assimilate and learn the language of the country they were living in.......and would not hire anyone who could not speak passable English.....it was after all, an FAA requirement to be able to read and speak the English language fluently in the positions I was responsible for. those conversations didn't go very well with my bosses but they didn't have a leg to stand on as I could quote FAA regs and was in the right.

I knew what you meant, just was being my usual smart ### self lol

those internet translators have gotten much better lol reminds me of the woman I was with before I met my wife....South African and spoke Afrikaans as her primary language but she also spoke very fluent english. think back in the day of windows 95 and netscape

thought I'd impress her and learn some Afrikaans lol let's just say the translators of that day just weren't up to the task. it didn't go very well

Wow dang it I missed Rocks again!! Back in the truck and waiting for delivery in the am. Then off to second stop and then maybe I can start my vacation a lil early.

The word I used it said it meant beautiful. But it also told me use a the a or o at the end if referring to genders. Rocks is an awesome teacher, but her whispering that in my ear with that lovely accent is way better then reading on here. Can't wait till my next lesson.:biggrin_25525:
