We independent haulers need to band together and do something about brokers trying to get us to work for peanuts! Like the rest of you, I pay insurance, fuel, maintenance and other expenses and 35 to 40 cents a mile doesn't cut it! My Facebook group is independent auto haulers. Join our group and lets discuss how we all can fight back!

Deregulation hit about 1990 ..... you join the long list of 'wishful thinking' .... sorry to be a bummer, but I've seen it all in 25 years since '90. I've seen the slow moving protests on the Interstates, the blocking of scales, the DYNOMITING of scales !!, the sit-ins, the weigh-ins, the lie-down-ins, the union drives, etc etc ...... it's done. Find your own personal niche, exploit it, and enjoy life.

    Luck

    Peace out !

well lets just say every driver decided to sit, even company drivers decided they werent gettn enough, and even drivers from another country decided not to drive for peanuts, no drivers hauling loads. what would happen? well rates would spike untill the first driver decided it was enough for him to drive again, then another and another, untill we are right back to where we are today complaining about cheap rates an low pay. whats the answer? thats for everyone to figure out for themselves

I'm sitting 3 days now waiting for half way decent pay Metro keeps posting their. 22 cpm. ####. They are a good reason to make the do not haul for list since they dont even have trucks.

I know it sucks but sometimes you just need to put it into the wind heading for a better market. I will not park one of my trucks more than half a day, (unless they happen to be on a reset).

There's drivers out here making 25 cpm or less
And happier than a pig in mud.
Don't ask me how you compete with that.

The point is all these cheap loads that you car
Haulers are complaining about are getting moved
By somebody at minimum wage rates.
    Company drivers and owner operators.

Somebody is always gonna take them.
The real question is who's gonna go broke first.
The drivers who sit and refuse to haul the cheap stuff
Or the ones pulling the cheap stuff.

    clara Thanks this.
