Hello,
I'm with an OTR trainer. I've only gotten about 2800 miles in three weeks at .18 cents a mile. That means that I am only getting about 150 dollars every check, however while I'm sitting in the passenger seat and my trainer is driving, I have to be logged on duty status. Doesn't on duty status mean I'm working? I know when I was a server that if someone didn't make minimum wage for hours worked from tips the company had to pay them whatever they lacked below minimum wage. My question is, why doesn't this apply to trucking companies? If on duty means I am working, shouldn't I have to be paid at least minimum wage for the hours I have been on duty? Sorry for the poor grammar, I typed this on my phone ( While my trainer is driving of course)
Training, on duty status, and minimum wage.

What company are you working for?

Time to jump ship. They can bill you for the training and you can pay it when you can; don't worry about it for now.
VolunteerTrucker Thanks this. -

Try Waggoners Trucking Company. They pay .50 cpm for solo and .67 cpm for teams. Need hazmat endorsement and passport.
You can, in good faith, leave Celadon, and repay the debt for training later.
Submit some applications and see what happens; might get some good job offers.

I'm not a sports fan. The only game that looks interesting in rugby. Regular football looks like a bunch of Michelin tire guys with all that padding. -
