I knew a bad wreck had me late coming out of the terminal. Ive worked my share of fatalities even with bikers which I am also and truckers which I am now also and was wondering in case I missed it in the article.

How can you defend all these sorts of incidents? Fell asleep my a&& but even if the driver "fell asleep", I don't think that bodes well for the driver or the industry or the carrier, either.

    falling asleep behind the wheel....

soo much is made about "don't do drugs" "don't drink" etc etc and getting enough sleep isn't stressed enough.
    Driving exhausted is very dangerous

Alot of my fatalities and really bad wrecks were due to falling asleep. The sad part besides notifying families was trying to tack a problem that involves falling asleep. No law on the books for that so it made it real tough.

That is why you don't take a break on the side of the freeway!! Get off the freeway, go to a side street, gas station or a store parking lot.

I see this all the time, cars & big trucks do it also, then pull right out onto the freeway from a dead stop. Not a good decision.

There is too much distracted driving going on to even think about stopping on the side of the road.

I came by the accident scene this morning, what a mess.

I does bother me when I see motorcyclist and others motorists stop on the shoulder to take a break, stop on a ramp, it's better than the shoulder.

    I'm a biker and a driver...

Never understand why bikes stop under underpasses or the shoulder for a break and why trucks typically flat beds stop on the shoulder to check load securement...

    RIP to the biker

    Another driver falling asleep...

When is this going to stop? If you to tired to drive then don't... F the company.... Call and tell them you aren't in the conditions to drive and when you are you will.. Simple

Tell that to jb hunt when they told one of my drivers he MUST do a second gate and the kills a cop doing speed traps on the shoulder because he fell asleep.
These companies can afford the occasional consequence of mayhem; the money is the highest priority. God bless the bikers hurt. Sick of hearing these tragic events.
