How often do you feed it some cheese ...?

It could be a number of things, 77. A hole in a hose, if you're lucky. A hole somewhere, maybe your charge air cooler. Or, there are some metal tubes, clamps may be loose, something is out of focus with that whistle. I had a whistle, it was all the above before it was over, but my turbo was in great shape. Climbing out of Auburn, CA up to Donner Summit with 46,000lbs of corn in the trailer - it was sudden onset, only it wasn't whistling, it was screaming.

They will make a bit more noise when pulling hard, that's normal. In my experience when you have an air leak it lets you know that something isn't right. Without hearing it nobody will really know if it sounds like a leak or just a turbo working.

I think I will get one of those scan gauges to watch the boost. When I'm bobtail its fine. Loaded it whistles. I have a 9200i, light on the gauges. Pete's are better for gauges.
