If let's say you pass your DOT checkup, but at what age would an employer or insurance compay would just not employ-insure you anymore.

I know the average truckers age is 55, can anyone tell me what is the average age of an old trucker you have met.

I m 40 I just want to know what is going to be my career lenght

    Thanks

I have seen some guys driving looked older than dirt to me. I think if you can pass your company physical test you can do it.

I'm not aware of any age limit restrictions imposed by any Federal safety agency, however who knows what individual states may impose at the driver's license level.

Not sure where "the average trucker is 55" comes from, but I'm not buying it. I suspect any sort of averaging method will be much lower than that.

Yep, met a few in their 70s. As long as you keep your health, they'll keep doling out a 1 year med card.

And a quick note; every driver over the age of 70 is rail thin. No fatties allowed.

Guys in there 80's are out driving the big rigs putting the younger generation to shame.Ive seen older folks and they look much younger then they are.I even asked for proof and they showed me their licence. So in other words give this profession a try and watch how fast it takes yrs off your age.

Eat right and brisk walk every day and you should be good for another 30 or 40 years.
