Wal-Mart could own millions in Back Pay

    Swift did this in the past, maybe still do in some locations, but they have tried it and it almost worked, just some occasional snag from one driver not showing up for his/her shift or breakdown caused a problem.

    Otter, we still have the shuttles which still to this day hurt many of us Shuttles based out of Lancaster, Phoenix and Edwardsville are the ones that I sure about. Like Phoenix will go to Lordsburg and swap and back.

    If you want to be paid for your time on line 4, expect a line 3 pay cut...because the time it takes to load/unload/fuel/inspect/etc. Is already factored into what you're being paid. This is why many companies increase their per-mile rate for short hauls...because they are compensating you for your time loading & unloading. So, if they now need to separate that out, your per-mile rate will have to drop so they can show you've been paid for the line 4 time. In the end, you'll probably make LESS because they sure aren't going to change the pay structure to benefit you.

    Another extra cost that needs to be factored in is the accountant's time figuring all this stuff out.
    That cost would probably reduce overall driver pay as well.

    No one likes to sit around for hours due to a very slow shipper/receiver - but that is what detention pay is for, after all. They should jack up the detention fees, and really enforce it, to get those times down.
