Cut rates beyond a certain level and you can not operate at a profit . Small highly leveraged outfits bid way low
get the work for a short time and go broke.Next outfit comes along same thing. Its like a cycle I am seeing this happening currently in the bakken.

Is Nuverra winning MBI's business or is Nuverra doing the same strategy of refusing to cut rates? It looks like they are still hiring. Maybe they are staying busy?

Power Fuels refused to hire me in 2012 so they must be fairly selective about who they hire. a buddy of mine works for that company and he grossed $148,000 last year only working 10 months out of the year. they seem to have fairly decent equipment and they seem to be pretty good at doing maintenance

There is a reason MBI is hiring right now, and its not good for a lot of us. They have figured out they can hire cheaper labor during this slowdown and are doing their best to run off the higher wage employees by calling them off from work and keeping the cheaper labor on the clock. Last year, I started off hauling water for $24/hour. The latest hire in water? $16/hour. I have since moved to crude oil, but all raises have been pretty much frozen for 8 months... the writing is on the wall, and I'll be jumping ship shortly.

Yup. I am at $24/hour... started there last year, denied raise at 6 months due to slowdown. No raise when transferred to crude oil (I was happy to be employed and getting hours since water was dead), and I was just denied a raise at 1 year.

$24/hour at night, no raise? New hires are at $24 days, $27 nights.

I am leaving in the next 2 weeks, just gotta get some stuff lined up first.
