Diesel will weigh different amounts in different parts of the country at different times of the year. Summer blends will be lighter than the winter blends. I always used 8 lbs per gallon if I was trying to figure how much fuel to put on when I was running heavy and 7 lbs per gallon if figuring how much I needed to use before that next scale.

Diesel is about 1000 litres less per compartment. -
Diesel can actually vary from 7 pounds to 7.5 pounds. My gas is a few ppm/cu. ft. heavier than air.

And to really start a lively conversation, when I'm watching my weight on my axles, I use on average 7.75 lbs per gallon, then use 75% for weight on my drives and 25% of the weight on my steer. There now, debate the night away.

That's why I said "I think" ! ! ! !
Rugerfan Thanks this. -
I think a pound of gas is lighter than a pound of diesel.

The weight of gasoline and diesel depends on the density or temperature. That's why gasoline is sold to the station at the net price and not the gross. At 60° gasoline is around 6.3lbs. I didn't messed with diesel but it's all on the net.
