Is it legal to have a 53 ft wedge trailer with the front and back extensions welded? 2 ft extensions on each side. I heard DOT does not measures the extensions

What state are you asking about?

I'm out of CA

That sounds risky to me. Why are they welded ?
corderol181 Thanks this. -
I don't know. At the time, it didn't matter to me. My truck and trailer combined is well under 65 ft tho

You might get more information asking in the car hauler section asking about extensions. Instead of welding they might need to be bolted on so as not to be considered permanent or put on a slider even if you never use it.

Running flips on a wedge is just stupid IMO. Get a true 4 car and never look back.
