Are any of these guys trailers still out on the road?
I haven't seen one of these guys trailers in the longest time did Swift trade them all in or re-brand them?
How did these guys end up going under? I remember like Caterpillar was like there big customer and they were having trouble with a bad Caterpillar engine that was in there newer Peterbuilts, and Cat didn't honor the warranty and they ended up folding? Maybe that's not right, but I know the Swift machine got in there post hast and absorbed them pretty quickly.

IIRC, the Nashville one was the good one, and they had a blue logo.

In 05 I had to help clean up a cornhusker wreck near Morton and wound up at a motel across from star and heard they had cut everyone's pay and were herding in low pay replacements .
Used to run 74 alot and noticed stars terminal kinda go to hell after that ..ratty looking trucks and wrecked trucks .

I think it was 2012 or 2013 Star Transport of Morton, IL was absorbed into Swift, but they were absorbed into Swift a goofy way, they weren't flat bought out like MS Carriers or Central Refrigerated it was like Swift took over Stars Authority and for a short time you did see blue Swift Kenworths pulling Star trailers, but that fizzled out pretty quick and I haven't seen a Star trailer in a couple years, I mean Star was small compared to Swift 600 trucks and trailers, those 600 trailers could have gotten thrown into the system and dispersed through out the country and you wouldn't see to many.

The funny thing is though if Swift still has MS Carriers Trailers around, why wouldn't they not have some Star Trailers around? Of course MS Carriers was bigger then Star, but you see what I mean.

Star had a rough time of it towards the end, Caterpillar was like there big customer and mine as well have been there only customer. They were the kind of outfit where you would get sent out drop your load and then wait 3-4 days for a re-load.

    bzinger Thanks this.
