What is Load Pay

    What is load pay?............Yes im new...........
    When a company say 150.00 load pay minimum what does this mean?

    EDIT

    Is this something that only applies to owner operators?

    with the amount of 150 dollars, it might be for o/o. which means you get 150 dollars if the miles for the load does not pay equal or greater to 150 dollars. some companies had load min. pay for co. drivers, some call it short haul pay. if you get a load for 50 miles, as an o/o making 1.00 per mile, thats 50 bucks, company driver at .40cpm, thats only 20 bucks. the min. pay or short haul pay is put in to make the load a little more worth the work.
