Here's an uncrontrolled accident scene too.

Seems like car doors are tire magnets...

That's gotta hurt (if rolling down the hill didn't do 'em in). I hauled tires for a while and accidentally rolled a smaller one without a rim into the back of someone's leg at about 5mph and he had to sit down for a few minutes...

I'll bet next time he'll hold his water until he gets home. I'd advise anyone to stay the hell off the shoulder unless they absolutely can't get to anywhere else. It's not a rest area. I see a lot of cars parked there for what appear to be trivial purposes. I'd let my kid piss in the car, anywhere he chooses, rather than park on the shoulder of an interstate and take him into the grass, expecting every passing car to vacate the right lane out of deference to me.

Ouch. It's weird the way the wheel accelerates after it comes off. Does anyone know what causes that?

I'd guess that what's spinning it gives it an extra kick as it separates, and in the first video, one tire looks like it sped up the other as they both separated.

I watched a box truck loose a set of duals of the left side in the hammer lane. They separated after the first bounce and started somersaulting toward the median. It was just luck it happend where the median was a muddy swap section so it stopped them dead when they hit it.
