How many years of work history are the giant training school companies looking for? I was thinking it couldn't be too strict since a lot of people choose indentured servitude as a last resort. My work history is a bit spotty. I have 6 months recently which is verifiable, but about 7 years of not so verifiable work because it was cash paid. I mean they could verify it with my ex-managers and stuff but is that enough? Anyone can have a friend do a fake job reference.

What do you guys think? I'm considering just using the 6 months on my application because they have a human resources dept. and it was an official, tax paid type job. That would look pretty bad for a 29-year-old with only 6 months work history though.

The 10 years of driving history only applies to experience drivers. They need 3 years of work history for non experienced drivers. You will need to get some documentation to prove you worked. Some might work with you some will not. Give a few a call and see what type of responses your getting.

6 months won't cut it. Again use the search feature, it is very helpful.

    Which companies are you considering?
Some accept letters signed and notorized that you were unemployed and looking for work during periods of unemployment.
Ask each company what they require; they all have their own rules.
Which state do you live in? There's probably a dozen companies to try.

Basically any company, even CRST, to get a career going. It's not that I was unemployed but that I was in scammy under the table jobs for most of my adult life. I could provide them a number for confirmation but nothing as far as W2 forms and crap.

Do you have tax records where you filed taxes each year.
One guy on here has never had a job; he inheritied some money and partied for a few years until he was broke and still found a trucking job.
    Submit several applications.
    Lobos Interstate Services
    Carolina Logistics
    Western Express
    CRST
    Southern Refrigerated Transport
Which state do you live in?
Your state might pay for private cdl school; most states have that program, but lots of paperwork.

The first year I filed taxes was this year.

I can afford private schooling, I have plenty of money saved up. What good would that do me if nobody would hire me with only 6 months work history though?
