Yeah WV roads do suck if they are not Interstate! Where at in the Chicagoland area did you deliver at? Glad you are liking it! Learn as much as possible while your our with your trainer! One of those little things that you think is a one time use knowledge will be used again when you least expect it!

    Update!!!

Well I feel like I have delivered the world and it's only been two weeks! 11 hrs of drive 2 hrs of sleep and 10 hours in SB. Looks great on paper! My trainer has about 20 hours in the SB and about 2 hours of driving. We are now at a repair shop and to give our beautiful concrete load to another driver. The check engine light came on all the sudden and diagnostics says low voltage in cylinder 5. The truck does not like that at all!! Chugging along.. To a rest stop and was towed here at 2 am. This last load we had to run with half tanks to be legal! Heavy load 35 mph going up WV mountains. I have driven over those mountains 6 times now! Starting to feel like a yo-yo go to one side get this bring it to the other side. I am still living it! Wish l could sleep more! We get to the consignee and park in front if they're gate. I wake to construction workers talking about what they did last night! Lol! Some stories are good.. Some are not so good. I think that when I get my truck I'm going to find a way to not sleep in front of the gate. I know if it's a factory it's a great idea. But a construction site seems like a safe bet to sleep close but not in the site!

Thank you guys for your support and keep reading. I don't really know what part of Chicago I was in it seems as if I am here and then there but can't remember here after I get there!

I hear ya! Good to know you are enjoying it! You will become very familiar with the WV turnpike at TMC especially if you live down that way.

My half brothers step dad had been driving for them for 40+ years. He's 64 and still doing it everyday. Lots of rules to follow but they are a very respectful and well organized operation.

He's a o/o. Always owned his own truck from what I understand but always hauled for them.

    Update!

I have been running with TMC now for I guess 3 months. Delivered steel, drywall, paper, shingles, rolled roofing, steel coils, aluminum rods, lumber, plastic hell a mixture of everything you can imagine that will will fit in the back of this monster! Believe it or not I'm still enjoying it! Sure the tarps are time consuming and sometimes a pain in bootay but I still wouldn't want to drive dryvan. Have seen many dry and delivering hay in the middle of a field in Montana! Sometimes for them it's a mystery of what they have in the back! I can't imagine driving from here to there to back into a dock where there are hundreds of the same trucks backing into the same docks everyday! I like delivering to these construction sites and various mom and pop places! I never know if I'm going to be at a shipping terminal or in a field picking up a load of hay. The way it works is, you deliver your load enter in the Qualcomm your empty and wait. 20 or 30 minutes later you get another load. You haul butt there and pick it up. Then haul butt to deliver it.. And it repeats. In Friday you deliver your load and get another load to take home. ( to be delivered on Monday) thanks for all you guys that are sticking around to hear my story! Any questions don't hesitate!!

Glad your liking it. I am the same way. I hate dry van and the thought of bumping docks all day. I started out with TMC as well and enjoyed knowing and seeing what I was hauling. Tarping and securing was sometimes a challenge but I liked it for the most part (well except in the wind cold snow weather). More brain stimulation using than opening and closing barn doors. Also the locations were usually interesting and the sometimes off roading I had to do with the truck. I liked seeing the inside of huge foundries where they make the coils. It was cool and felt like a kid sometimes.

I miss TMC at times but I am a flatbedder locally now running the same freight to stores and construction sites. We run dry bulk tankers twice a week and now starting to do some van work which I hate but don't have to do everyday thank god lol.

Keep posting about TMC good or bad. It will help others who are just starting out or thinking about signing up at TMC.

    Carlnix30 Thanks this.
