What do you mean "You and every other individual that thinks like you is exactly what is wrong with this industry"? I agree with most of what MJ has to say, does that mean I am part of the problem? 22 1/2 years in this industry and WE are what is wrong? I guess guys who think like we do all just have the golden horseshoe of trucking stuck up our butts. It is all luck, we never worked for anything. You see these guys and girls bellyaching every week about their problems. If you people would spend less time whining about your problems and more time solving your problems you wouldn't have most of your problems. Boo hoo hoo, you went from Swift, to Central, to Schneider and still don't get any respect? If you cant find anybody to hire you then you haven't knocked on enough doors. When you guys finally find get away from the larger trucking companies you will forget about "Destination Excellence" "The Power of Red" "Best in Class" and the rest of the koolaid swilling lackeys.

Its exactly like i said, the negativity that some of you on this board present is uncalled for. Most individuals get into this industry because they see what so many have, and they want it to. so they fall for the tag lines from the large carriers. I choose TMC because I didnt like fact that Maverick has all their trucks as auto's, I didnt like Boyd's pay or their requirements, and I didnt like Melton's hometime policy. Some of you condemn those of us who choose to go with a large carrier to get the experience that we are told we need, then you slap us down even more then the choices weve made turn wrong. I went with TMC because the individuals I spoke with (TMC Drivers) and I spoke with several prior to signing up, not one had a bad thing to say. Matter of fact, I didnt come across one negative thing until I got to orientation in Des Moines, and it come from another driver who did nothing but complain about everything come to find out later he was one of the individuals that had a camera put in his truck because he screwed up so often. So considering the source Id say I was in good company. I choose TMC because they are the only company that gives me the option to get percentage pay over mileage pay. Their insurance is pretty #### good, and the place I live in has great freight lanes.

These so called Mega's that so many of you like to rail against you do it because of the reputation that those companies have gotten. Many have gotten it because they deserve it, others because drivers screwed up and refuse to admit that it was their fault. So we get these one hit wander posters on here. We are told many times to go with a smaller company, youll get treated better, youll be more of a name, not a number. And that may be true for some. However how many posts have we seen where drivers will post about a small outfit being garbage and treating them like ####? How many posts have we seen where those drivers are complaining that they had money come up missing, and then later find out that they were taking advances to where they were broke?

I promise everyone this...When TMC doesnt work out for me, Ill do what everyone expects. Ill post here about it. Only difference is, my post will detail exactly what happened, and if its my fault, Ill admit to it.

    In before the lock.

Glad TMC and all of the others rejected me while in school. Glad I Didn't have to go through all of this B.S. to finally land locally. It took longer but it was a fair trade IMO.

    Carry on.

This thread all started because of one question about a well known flatbed company. They have their tag line of Destination Excellence. However, I scrutinize everything before I make a leap. I fell for that once with the Military. I had options, The same ones that most have after CDL school. However ive seen first hand what the Mega's do to their people. All my research led to TMC. They want quality drivers. And they dont just take anyone. They couldve gotten rid of me after my physical, due to my medications. They couldve told me that my accident last year on my motorcycle was a disqualifying incident like CR England did (thankfully). After CR England told me no, that was when I found this website. It was this website that I had first learned of TMC. Not some commercial, or advertisement on the web. It was the lack of negative posts from others that were from the last year.

Is TMC employee owned now? Seems things would change.

Yes TMC is an ESOP. However Harold Annette still has ownership of the greater majority of the stock, he is turning over shares each corner to the employees.
