Just got off the phone with my friend, apparently the fleet managers and whatnot had a meeting yesterday.. A trucking consulting firm came in to try and cut costs, and these are some of the idea's that were floating around, and, according to my friend the next time trucks go in for full service they're going to be turned down to 62MPH.

They're also eliminating 5 week training bonuses that the trainers received from 5 week drivers after they received their 6 months in incident free.

    We'll see where this goes!

Yeah, and probably half of that 7 million will go to the consultant that gave them that advice.. LOL

So much for pride.. Being passed by swift and J.B should be great for the morale... =/

They are really putting themselves back in the same league with the rest of the competition, and i'm not sure they realize that the fact that they were not in that league is what made them so appealing as an employer to many drivers who knew what they were doing. I know alot of people will likely leave over this recent change, so we will see what happens. I know the dedicated (Deere) drivers have been upset for some time ever since they were turned down from 70MPH.. This may be the straw that breaks the camels back, but, only time will tell.

Might as well get some 9 speed freightshakers at this point.

13 speeds my ### ! How about 9 speeds? They're going to rip the splitter out. Just like Swift on their lease trucks.

I don't know how they're geared in the rear. But I just don't see them keeping the 13 functional...at 62 mph. Without some serious issues.
