    Just a FYI Heads Up.

Today, Friday the thirteenth, 2014, while reading the posts in the thread titled New York Times: Truckers Resist Rules on Sleep, Despite Risks of Drowsy Driving I was surprised to see a drop-down pop-up advertisement, and it re-appeared every time I went to the next page of that thread. The ad is for CAR ACCIDENT ATTORNEYS.

The ad reads: "I need a car accident attorney".
    (Describe what you need)

    It asks for:
    Full name
    Your e-mail
    Location Zip code
    Your phone number.

    and

    Get legal advice.
(By submitting this form, I authorize service providers to contact me back regarding my request.)

Ending with: Brought to you by Pastaleads.

Also, there's a picture of a dude in a black judge's robe holding a red book.

Is this a legitimate advertiser or a hack? :dontknow:

    It's annoying.
A guarantee that I'll avoid contacting them.

ThanX folks, --- for all that y'all do to keep TTR the outstanding site that it is. :salute:
    Much appreciated. :smt045

Friday the 13, What month are you on ? :biggrin_25522::biggrin_2559:

As far as the advertising, you must not have been signed into the forum. That's the only time you will see advertising and I don't think the Admin has any control over that. Though I could be wrong. :biggrin_2558:

Wellll, ....... color my face bright red. :biggrin_25521:
Dad-burned calendar flipped back to June.
Make that the eleventh of July. Friday and the year are still correct though.
    :biggrin_25525:

I'm pretty sure I was signed in. But I've been incorrect before. :biggrin_25523:
Would the age of a thread make any difference?

Mine eyes have seen the same drop-down pop-up ad`again, this time in the thread
Woman escapes serious injury after crashing under 18 wheeler.
There seems to be a pattern to the ads as they only appear in crash report threads.

If you are logged in to the site, there should be no advertising showing up whatsoever. If there is, I suspect you possibly have a third party add on, tool bar or malware on the system.

I personally like Malwarebytes to scan for unknown programs that are not classified as viruses. They have a free version here:

Sounds like an issue with adware on your computer. We're not doing pop-ups, and we only show ads to guests / people who aren't logged in.

I thought it was odd to see an ad here.
It's never happened to me before, and has only happened twice, --- same topic.

I'm gonna run with the suggestion BHW provided.
    See what happens.

    ThanX for the replies y'all.
    Much appreciated. :salute:
