The buffet is tempting when you are in a hurry and want something other than a frozen burrito or the mystery meat from the hot deli or whatever. then you see the price and just leave hungry.

I like eating in the truck for about $50/week
I only buy coffee at the TS
although the soups at the pilots are not bad
all the TA's arn't terrible the restaurant in Morris IL is a good place to eat -
The restaurant inb Morris,Il really isnt a T&A....
Thats R-Place, been there a long long time when it was a 'real' truckstop The good ol' Standard oil truck stop, MorrisTruckDuo Thanks this. -
R Place in Morris at the TA is good, it's also not a corporate. I have found many of the TAs to be OK and almost all had quit the buffet when they had enough help, and went to free seconds on many items in lieu of the buffet.
There is one in Battle Creek, MI, I haven't been there since shortly after it was opened, but that one had a buffet because they were short of wait staff and trying to get it established.
I never got to the one south on I-69 just to the east of that one, but it should be about the same. -
