Last time fueling at Love's

Before I got a Love's card, all I had to do was show a fuel receipt. Heck...even had not one, but two different Loves' locations give me a free shower when my card had no credits.

 

When I went to work at my current company, we only fuel at the terminal or p/fj. I happily threw out my loves and TA cards. When I do have to stop at a loves or TA for a purchase other than fuel (which is only on very rare occasions), the cashiers always try to force a new card on me. And they are usually quite incredulous when I decline.

 

Love's is still a poor excuse for a truck stop. They don't offer many of the things needed by drivers who are out for weeks and months at a time, such as laundry facilities or a snail mail box. They just seem to be more oriented towards the motoring public of four wheelers than 18-wheelers.

 

Now I understand why a lot of truckers do not shower!

 

sounds like he was to lazy to get you a shower.
Pilot. loves, TA,Petro all give you a shower for taking on a min of 50 gallons. No loyalty card needed, just show a recipt.
the least you could of done, was ask for a free loyalty card and then tell him to addd you shower credit on there.

 

Yea I was stuck in Missouri and needed one desperate but didn't fuel at a loves in like a month didn't show a card or nothing. Old girl behind counter said eh we are slow it's on the house.

 

I saw this exact same thing happen to a driver at a Loves in Texas. He had his fuel receipt but they made him pay for a shower. Why he didn't just get a card on the spot I don't know but I saw it happen so I believe the OP story.

 

Just do what we all do, get a card.
You may not want one, but, oddly, we get free showers.

Card or not, you will have to wait upwards to an hour to use a shower credit at most Love's these days.

 

The fuel receipt will have a bar code to scan for a shower if you don't use a loyalty card. Had it happen when the card reader failed to read my card.
