Who is getting Thanked and by whom, or it the same thing , No appreciation from customers or truck stops.
The point of this is, I'm not really impressed.
Trucking is 24/7/365. We should be appreciated every day every hour.
Just not for a few hours each day in the middle of the day, with a cold burger and warm drink.

My company had hot breakfast sandwiches available to us starting at 3am on Monday. Tuesday we had bag lunches available for us to pick up in the morning. Today we had bagels / cream cheese available. Always free coffee available. Tomorrow is pizzas. Everyone got a new hoodie for the fall / winter. Just some of the things our company is doing for the drivers this week.

I don't need thanks or appreciation. Just pay me. I'm not doing anything that's extraordinary. Just my job. Pay me and treat me with a tiny bit of respect. People expect too much from "Driver Appreciation Week".

Let's see I've only been cussed out twice this week and flipped off less than 20, but hey what can I say it's only Wednesday? What's this about truck driver appreciation? Didn't you know were low life scum?

I was told, "just a minute" from a shipping clerk while she finished her text. TA cleared a fuel lane for me to pull right in without waiting (it was 3:45 a.m. and I was the only one fueling, but it's the thought that counts). My company hasn't mentioned anything other than an offer to get a flu shot (which I don't believe in). I haven't been red-lighted at a scale since last Friday. So, overall it's been terrific. I feel so asphyxiated...I mean appreciated.
allniter Thanks this.
